Historic White Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen remodel brought a brighter, more useful layout to a home with the character of an older property. Existing details such as the wood floors, tall trim, generous windows and surrounding millwork gave the project a strong starting point. The updated kitchen needed to feel fresh without looking disconnected from the rest of the house.

A white kitchen shaped by natural light

White cabinetry and light counters keep the room open and allow daylight from the surrounding windows to move through the space. A full-height glossy tile backsplash adds texture while reflecting that light. The cooking wall pairs a stainless range with a substantial white hood, and brass-toned hardware and fixtures provide warm contrast.

The sink area was organized around an apron-front sink positioned beneath a window. Nearby cabinetry, counter space and appliances keep everyday tasks together without crowding the work area. Tall storage and glass-front cabinet details add useful capacity while maintaining the room’s clean palette.

More room to gather

A large central island creates additional work surface and casual seating. The adjoining breakfast nook adds another place to sit without competing with the kitchen’s primary work zones. Its built-in bench, wood table and dedicated light fixture make use of the window-lined corner and give the family a comfortable everyday dining area.

The finished room connects cooking, seating and dining more naturally than the previous arrangement.
